Soups are definitely the best way of providing your body with essential nutrients. Based on the broth (bone or veggie), they will flood your body with different nutrients which have special characteristics. You can add a number of healthy spices in the broth which will further boost the function of your organs and your overall health as well.
Soups are clean meals which are perfect for cleaning the body of toxins. By starting your day with a bowl of detox soup, you will boost your energy levels and provide your body with enough nutrients that will last until the next meal. Some soups have a lot of fiber which can improve your digestion, while others are an excellent source of carbs which will provide your cells with a lot of energy. A good soup cleanse lasts for 1-3 days. You should consume 5-6 bowls of soup daily and drink plenty of water to support the detox process.
To prepare the perfect soup, you should first pick the broth – we suggest bone, vegetable or Miso broth. Next, add ingredients such as ginger, kale, spinach, onion, leeks, zucchinis, potatoes, acorn squash, beets or parsnips and some spices such as turmeric, cinnamon, garlic or cumin. You can add some proteins into your bowl of soup by including beans, lentils or nuts in it. Finally, add some ghee, coconut or avocado oil as a creamer which will make the soup thick and tastier.
Here are a few great detox soup recipes:
Broccoli detox soup
2 cups bone broth
2.5 cups of broccoli
3 celery stalks
2 tablespoons of coconut oil
2 tablespoons of collagen
A pinch of sea salt and a bit of lemon juice
Heat the coconut oil in a pan first, then add the broccoli, celery and chopped onion and cook for 5 minutes while stirring. Add the broth next, simmer for another 5 minutes, add the remaining ingredients and simmer for an additional 10 minutes until the soup is nice and thick.
Carrot and ginger detox soup
6 cups vegetable broth
2 lb. of carrots
3 teaspoons of ginger powder
3 garlic cloves
1 cup coconut milk
Sea salt, onion powder and black pepper to taste
2 tablespoons of ghee (or coconut oil)
2 tablespoons of collagen
Pour the broth in a pan, then add the carrots, garlic and ginger and mix well while cooking on medium heat. Next, sauté the onions in another pan and add the ghee until the onion caramelizes, then add the broth and mix everything in a blender well. Add the coconut milk and spices in the end and serve the delicious soup.
Red lentil detox soup
4 ½ cup vegetable broth
½ cup red lentils
¼ cup coconut oil
1 apple and onion each
½ a teaspoon of chili, black pepper, cumin and paprika each
A pinch of sea salt
A small piece of ginger
Start by warming up the coconut oil on low heat, then add the onion, apple, potatoes and carrots. Cook for another 10 minutes, then add the broth and spices and mix well. Leave the soup to boil for 30 minutes on low heat, then mix it in a blender. Decorate with coconut cream in the end and enjoy.
